Personal Stuff:

Start the year off doing something wonderful for someone else, which will greatly impact our future.  Go to this site and donate a buck or two (or lots). While the salon has a movie theme, those of you who know me are aware of my passion for books, and the value I place on reading. This is a fantastic organization.  Please check it out.  (Oh, and Nathan  Fillion is the co-founder! I have so many clients trying to find homes for cats and kittens.  If you don't already know this, there are several resources in this area for free spaying and neutering.  Strays can be taken in, fixed, and then released.  Tri-Valley Animal Rescue ( www.tvar.org  ) is a great informational resource.  Please pass this info on to your friends and neighbors!

I know my front yard looks terrible.  As everything gets established in the new space, the yard will be fixed up and become a wonderful cottage garden.  Thanks for your patience.

Salon Stuff:

More movie posters are up, and there's a new movie contest for you to enter when you come into the salon! There's been such great response to the on-line contest, I decided to add another opportunity for all you film buffs.  The winner receives $40.00 in services, just like the website contest!  Enter both every month.

Due to these tough economic times (I had to say that, as it's become such a catchphrase.), I am adjusting the salon hours to more efficiently fill my schedule. Until things turn around a bit, the salon will be open Wednesday through Saturday, and will be closed Sunday through Tuesday.

The website Community Bulletin Board page is up and running. I'm putting the information on there as I get it. Send me info about items you're selling or giving away, items you're looking for, and job opportunities, etc.  And make sure I have a concise introduction to your business, and we'll get a link in place!  I am also taking flyers and business cards to put on a physical bulletin board in the salon.  This is an opportunity for you to network and share info about your business, groups, housing situations, or items you may be selling or looking for.  

Having the website up and running is fantastic in itself, and also enables me to send out those appointment reminder emails that have been so helpful.  Please make sure I have your email address on file, if you want a reminder sent to your inbox.

When you call, you'll probably get the answering machine.  Please leave a message.  I may even hear you and pick up, so start talking.  I am really good about responding to email, as I can do that any time of day (or night).  Please feel free to email me through this website or directly through claudine@claudines.net .

While almost all of you are wonderful about keeping your calendars up to date, for those few who struggle with keeping to a schedule, please remember:  There is a charge equal to 50% of the fee for scheduled services for any missed appointment or appointment cancelled without 6 business hours prior notice.  Emergencies are clearly an exception.
