Claudine's Hair Salon - Contest

A new contest question will be posted on this page each month.

There's also a film contest every month in the salon!  Stop by to solve puzzles and answer trivia questions for another chance to win!  The February "In Salon Film Contest" winners were the team of Donna  Edwards, Amy and Eric Weber!

All the answers are found in, or are about, feature films.

Please send your answer via email, with "contest answer" written in the subject line.

The winner's name will be drawn at random, from the correct responses, on the first day of the following month.  Correct responses must be received prior to midnight, PST/PDT, on the last day of the month, to be considered for that month's contest.

Last Month:

February 2010 Contest Question:

To the ringleader's dismay his fair lady did betray.
Lead the Barrister astray to extract communique'.
"Brother" will pretend he's gay. Languages - not his forte'.
Hotel's name one must relay. With a stutter, hard to say.
Anything but that filet!

What did the animal lover do three times, which horrified him?
Congratulations to February winner Andria, who knew that Ken, in A Fish Called Wanda, accidentally killed three dogs, while trying to kill a witness.

The contest prize is a certificate, valued at $40.00, toward any hair service at Claudine's. (Not redeemable for cash or products.)

  • Please, one entry per person per month: any name is put in for each drawing just once.

Some of these will be easier than others.  It depends upon how creative I'm feeling. You may have to work a bit to figure it out, but I'm having to work to word things in a way that prevents popping a question into your search engine and getting the answer immediately!

Current Contest Clue and Question:

Take care where you build your house
so there is no need to fear, even when you know they're here.
Fun and games and kitchen sport
are fine 'til you almost drown, or are threatened by a clown.
Don't go into the closet.
Watch the television screen.  Make sure that the house is clean.

The writer of this film later did a re-make of a movie that we see a scene from on a television in this one.  Who is the writer and what is the name of his version of that movie?  (A little trickier than usual, as so many of you are whipping out the answers very easily. You'll probably have to look this one up!)

Do your best, and please send me your comments about whether or not you have a good time with this.

Thanks, and good luck.
